As part of its sixth anniversary, Virtua Solutions held a two-day leadership seminar last September 9 & 16. The seminar allowed participants to learn new leadership techniques and happiness through self-improvement.
Learning The Science Of A Happy Virtua Leader
Virtua held the event, dubbed the Leadership Camp And Happiness Workshop, in cooperation with The Better Happy Foundation. The seminar happened over the course of two Saturdays and was open to select participants from the different Virtua teams. Several life coaches from the foundation served as speakers.
The first day was an online session about the importance of a happy mindset in being a good leader. The participants learned strategies to improve their mindset about various situations and harness them to improve their actions.
Participants also got to explore the subject of happiness science. The Better Happy Foundation explains that Happiness science is a methodical approach to achieving a more positive mindset. According to the foundation’s coaches, its goal is to help participants not only reach a more positive emotional state but also maintain it longer.
Based on that premise, the participants learned some simple techniques to improve their emotional and mental well-being. They also learned how to apply these simple principles to various daily scenarios.
Leading The Way For Happy Teams
The second day of the seminar was all about the participants using what they learned about personal happiness and well-being to lead others better. This time around, the session was a hybrid class, letting participants mingle with each other.
Better Happy coach Rommel Isla began the session with a lesson on how to build confidence as a leader. He explained that a confident leader will have a strong influence on their members to act. Isla emphasized that a confident leader can move their teammates without exerting a lot of effort.
The session also touched upon the science of building and managing happy teams. Coaches demonstrated how leaders can encourage this through simple steps. They also tackled the importance of effective communication for these teams.
After the two-day seminar, participants expressed their appreciation for getting the opportunity to join the seminar. According to Virtua co-founder Francis Guintu, it was a great way for the teams to learn something new and improve their work. He adds that company employees can expect more of these educational seminars in the future.;
