Virtua Solutions dazzled in jeans and jackets during its year end get-together last Dec. 9. Everyone got into the groove and had a fine night partying. Let’s dive in and check out what the fun is all about.
A Night Decked In Denim
For this year’s theme, the company went with a more rugged look. So all the employees went on to don their best denim look. There were classic jeans in all the different varieties. Be it the loose ones or those skinny jeans that hug your legs too tightly.
The guys also tried their hardest action star (or goons) impression with the denim jackets. Meanwhile, the ladies opted for a more chic look with the denim dresses. Even those in the virtual room were dressed for the occasion. My jacket was a bit tight, though.
Guests arrived at the Vu Sky Lounge around 7 PM. Before the program started, they were greeted with a tasty dinner. Meanwhile, those at home also prepared their tasty dinner. A live band serenaded the guests as they had their fill of food and drinks.
After some wait, Virtua CEO Frank Guintu opened the event via satellite from the United Kingdom. Frank expressed his gratitude that many came to the event, even those from as far off as Cebu. He also expressed happiness that all the various teams were well represented.
A Night Of Singing And Partying
As is with previous yearend events, there were tons of minigames for both the attendees in the venue and those online. And everyone was raring to participate. After all, 500 pesos is still 500 pesos.
But the highlight of the night was definitely the Open Mic contest. Now in its fourth year, the competition attracted surprisingly many entries this time. There were the regulars, there were also a lot of new faces showcasing their voice.
And as always, eventgoers were treated to a variety of genres. Open Mic veterans Chesca Cunanan, Jay Mark Rino, and Louie Agbulos serenaded the crowd with classics. Meanwhile, Maria De Guzman wowed with her patented opera vocals.
But the newbies were also not to be outdone. Gloria Madlangbayan dazzled not just with her voice but also her beautiful face. Rachel Ann Abrugar had the crowd giggling with her fun rendition of an Eraserhead classic. Meanwhile, Angie belted out the obligatory Aegis song. Rounding up the contestants were Ira de Gala, Davie Divino, and Kris Carino.
In the end, it was Sherwin Gonzales who emerged as the new king of the Open Mic. His rendition of Josh Turner’s Your Man has the crowd swooning and had him winning the 8,000 pesos grand prize. Kris and Maria came in second and third.
Virtua Giving MORE Prizes
Of course, no year end party would be complete without raffles. And this time around, Chito Ebal was the luckiest, winning the 25,000 pesos main prize. Billy Torres was the second lady luck blessed, walking home with 10,000 pesos. Each got to choose a gadget equivalent to their prize money.
Capping the awards were the stars of the night. To everyone’s delight, the ever-lovable Mama Rocky Alegre was the Male Star of the Night with his all-denim action star looks and flashy red hair. Tony Gerona was her leading lady as the Female Star with her ripped pants and tank top combination.
A Fun Lookback To 2023 For Virtua
Closing the event, the Virtua got to look back at all the things they have gone through this year. A special video chronicled all the major developments the company went through this year. And each team mentioned was beaming with pride.
For her part, Virtua co-founder Penny Lat expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone for making the entire year a big one for the company. Penny also promised there are a lot more big things that are about to happen to the company in the new year.
